She came to the area to attend to Humboldt State University. Abra achieved her BA in Liberal Studies in 1999. While obtaining her degree, Abra began working as a caregiver. As a caregiver, Abra has provided high-quality care to many members of the community in diverse circumstances including, care homes, private residences, and adult daycare. Abra continues to study ballet and other dance forms after twenty-five years. She became a company member of Redwood Concert Ballet in 1996, and she currently performs as a company member of North Coast Dance. Since 1996, Abra has performed locally in the classical genre of dance. Other hobbies include studying and teaching Pilates as well as volunteering for the Companion Animal Foundation of Arcata.
